Sichuan Arts & Culture Tour
The culture of Sichuan has a long history. It contains many cultural legacies from the ancient, and these legacies have become important cultural treasures today. The Government of Sichuan Province is devoted to the promotion of both education and the conservation of these cultural legacies, which can serve as an exemplar for us. In regard of this, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in collaboration with the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs of the Ministry of Culture will organise a six-day ‘Sichuan Arts & Culture Tour’ for Arts Ambassadors to travel beyond Hong Kong and get in touch with the arts and culture of Sichuan, learning to understand, appreciate and experience the arts and culture to broaden their cultural vistas.
Participants will have the opportunity to know Arts Ambassadors from different schools who are interested in non-local arts and culture. They will meet with organisations of different art forms in Sichuan, visit museums and historic sites and engage in interactive activities with teachers and students in Sichuan through courses of different art forms such as Chuan Opera, folk dance and folk music.
The Tour will visit the following cultural spots: Ÿ
- The Sichuan Art Museum that collects around 200 authentic pieces of calligraphy and painting by famous ancient culturati; Ÿ
- The Sanxingdui Ruins Museum that has a history of more than 5,000 years. Participants can experience the work of restoring cultural relics; Ÿ
- The Chengdu Tinman CG Arts Training Centre, the cultural and creative industry centre well-known for high-tech arts training; Ÿ
- The Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Center that is devoted to the conservation of rare and endangered wildlife;
