In this new lecture series, arts ambassadors will be introduced to the basic artistic theory, concepts and techniques by local artists. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to enhance their creativity and arts knowledge through a different approach and learning experience.

    Building a Young Future City 
Architecture is a combination of science and aesthetic, integrating the qualities of fine art and applied art. Architects make use of different colors, lines, shapes and materials to create their works, which must be attained the practical purposes and artistic senses. Buildings surround us and we live in them. However, have you ever paid attention to their existence? How can they reflect the social, cultural and economic factors, as well as the meanings behind? 
Led by Joseph Chan, a registered architect, the lecture will give you an insight of architecture in an interactive way and simple architectural exercises, as well as knowledge of building a young and future city.

    About the Speaker   


Joseph Chan

A professional architect with design projects - urban-planning, architecture and interior - completed in Europe, Middle-East and Hong Kong. He currently runs his art & culture, property & construction business consultancy, Comtale. The aim of his works is to support the growth and capability-building in the art and design world.  Joseph is also a lecturer teaching architectural design at HKU SPACE.
