“Meet the Artists” allows the arts ambassadors to talk to different local artists face to face to appreciate the artists’ artwork and learn their interesting stories behind.

Unveiling the Creation of Musical Theatre
The world of Music of Leon Ko 

Though you may not be a fan of musical theatre, you may probably have heard of works composed by Leon Ko, such as “Snow Wolf Lake”, “Field of Dreams”, “The Good Person of Sichuan”, “The Legend of the White Snake”, “The Passage Beyond” and the movie “Perhaps Love”.
Musical theatre is a combination of music, drama and dance, which may be the most complicated amongst all forms of art. When we talk about musicals, many people may only think of Broadway Musical. Yet, in the past decade quite a few local outstanding musical theatre composers are fostered. Leon Ko is one of them. If you would like to know the stories behind him, you must not miss the chance!

//  About the Artist  //
A composer for musical theatre and films. Ko received a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre Writing at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. His musical, "Heading East”, won the “Richard Rodgers Development Award”. His works were performed at Carnegie Hall and on Public Broadcasting Service in the US. He also received numerous musical awards, including Golden Horse Award.
