When you are playing with your computers, i-Phones, have you ever thought about using them for art creations? Do you know what New Media Art is? By the way, do you know what Installation Art is? Is there anything big and using lots of space in the museum called Installation Art? Let’s visit the New Media Artist Hung Keung’s studio and Visual Artists Kum Chi Keung’s studio to find out the answer.

//  About the artists  //
Hung Keung    
Being an established new media artists and scholar, Hung receives numerous awards including Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2010: Award for Best Artist (Media Arts) (2010), Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Awards: Achievement Awards (2009), President’s Awards: Outstanding Performance / Achievement (Research and Scholarly Activities) (2002), Deutscher Akademicscher Austausch Dienst Scholarship, Germany (2002) and Asian Cultural Council Fellowship, US (2005).

In 2005, he founded innov+media lab (imhk lab), focuses on new media art and design research in relation to Chinese philosophy and interactivity. He was graduated from the Swire School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. He was a visiting scholar at the Centre for Art and Media (ZKM) in Germany (2001-02) and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of the Arts in Zurich, Switzerland.



Kum Chi Keung    

Kum Chi Keung was graduated from First Institute of Arts and Design. He receives many awards including Honorable mention prizes of Hong Kong Arts Centre 30th Anniversary Award (2008), Hong Kong Arts Development Council, Fellowship for Artistic Development (1999) and Contemporary H.K. Art Biennial Exhibition, Urban Council Fine Arts Award (1996) etc.

His recent solo exhibitions are “Unfinished” Leo Gallery (2011), “Space for Lease” Hong Kong Arts Centre (2008-09), “The 9th Seoul Fringe Festival”, Installation by Kum Chi Keung (2006) etc; his works are also selected to participate in different exhibitions including “Art Asia Miami”, “The International Art & Antiques Fair”, “Young Art Taipei” (2011), “Ink Art VS Ink Art” and “Hong Kong Sculpture Biennial Exhibition 2010” (2010) etc.
