The 12th Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme Nomination Deadline Extended to 10 January 2020

 

Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme (AAiSS) encourages arts ambassadors to demonstrate their artistic talents and share the joy of artistic creation in order to live out the cooperative spirit of “Live in Art, Thrive in Sharing”. Since its launch in 2008, we have amassed more than 11,000 arts ambassadors from primary, secondary and special schools. An array of arts activities will be organised for arts ambassadors to demonstrate their talents and explore the possibility of arts.

 

In addition to the Creative+ Arts Camp and Finale Party, AAiSS will organise a brand new arts enhancement course and a variety of arts activities this year.

 

Activity Allowance

  • Activity allowance is available for ambassadors who are financially in need travel expenses, admission fees and other expenses for participating in arts activities.
  • Nominated students who are eligible for "Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) Scheme" or "Working Family Allowance Scheme" (Low-income Working Family Allowance Scheme) can apply for a $500 activity allowance.
  • To apply, ambassadors are required to submit relevant supporting documents together with the nomination form and fulfill the above requirements of obtaining certificate.
  • Students who are solely eligible for School Textbook Assistance Scheme (Full grant/ Half grant), Student Travel Subsidy or Subsidy Scheme for Internet Access Charges are not qualified for the allowance.
  • Activity allowance is provided to all nominated students from special schools.

 

Certificate

All nominated ambassadors should fulfil the following requirements during the academic year in order to obtain a certificate: 

  • Promoting arts in school as the fulfilment of pledges with the confirmation of the nominating teachers
  • Attend two core activities
  • Arts ambassadors who are unable to attend the core activities are required to submit documents to the HKADC Administration Office within one month after the event:
  • Leave Application Letter with teacher's signature and school chop, and
  • Art performance/ exhibition review

 

Arts Activities of the 12th edition:

AAiSS Finale Party (core activity)

The one-day finale party will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Through activities such as stage performances, exhibitions, creative arts booths and arts experience workshops, arts ambassadors can share their artistic experience and achievement with friends and relatives.

 

Creative+ Arts Day Camp (core activity)

The full day programme will lead the arts ambassadors into the world of art. They will have the chance to take part in arts appreciation, arts creation activities and interactive sharing sessions.

 

Arts Enhancement Courses 2020

To encourage arts ambassadors to participate in different arts activities, a new edition of Arts Training Enhancement Courses will be held between February and July 2020. Please stay tuned with the details announced later on the scheme website.

 

Cultural Exchange Tour (Secondary School Division)

Arts ambassadors will have the chance to visit Mainland museums, arts and cultural heritages to enrich their knowledge of arts and culture in China. In the past, they had visited Henan, Gansu and Sichuan Provinces and exchanged with local students and artists to broaden their artistic horizon.

 

Nomination details:

  • Each school is allowed to nominate 2 students
  • Criteria of nomination: strong interest in arts, positive attitude with future arts-related career in mind, readiness to serve the society with artistic talents
  • Student's artistic expertise: expertise in any art form is welcome
