Chung Ying Theatre Company: Muse Up! The Original Musical 2019: Buy Bye Land

Going Green for Being Seen? Dubbed herself a "trendy environmentalist", Tung has given up disposable plastic bags, cutlery and drinking straws and is turning herself an eco-friendly Key Opinion Leader in the cyber world. She has many eco-friendly products at home for different combinations at different occasions, but her grandma thinks that she is a “big waster”. One day, she accidentally steps into a mysterious land, where dried lakes and dead plants are everywhere. To escape from the deadly virus, people live under the ground and it is like the last day on the Earth…

Guided by her grandma, Tung then wanders the street in the 1960s. Will she learn about the true meaning of environmental production from the old neighbours of her grandma?

Established in 2008 by Chung Ying Theatre Company, Muse Up! Youth Musical Theatre Troupe has staged a number of original musicals based on social issues and observations from the daily life, leading young and adult audiences to reflect on themselves. In the recent two-year-project, troupe members joined workshops and researched on different topics about environment protection. They also helped in collecting unsold food from wet markets and beach cleanup events. In this finale performance, they would share their thoughts and feelings about environmental protection to the audience on stage with music, dance and drama.
